Vortex & Tech F1 Team Up For 4-Stroke Development

By Karting1 ~ February 15th, 2012. Filed under: Kart Racing News.

In a remarkable announcement, OTK & Vortex have teamed up with the 4-stroke kart engine manufacturers Tech F1. Tech F1 said on their website

In order to promote and develop the full potential of the category of 4-stroke karting field, the Technique Engineering Ltd with the beginning of 2012 has given the project of the engine family TECH-F1, with adjoining commercial rights, the Vortex OTK kart group GROUP.

The Technique Engineering Ltd reports that from 2012 will work in synergy with Vortex Engines in order to optimize performance and product quality, leveraging the expertise of both companies involved in the evolution of the project.

Tech F1/Vortex will be looking to get rid of the 4-stroke stigma

It is not yet know what adjoining commercial rights will actually manifest into to, but this latest development demonstrates the pace at which manufacturers are looking into new markets. However they will be wary of Rotax’s advancement in the 2-stroke field with their E-TEC technology that has meant 2-strokes can be as viable on emissions and pollution as any 4-stroke. Whether they bring that into karting is not yet known.
