Tal-Ko Ditch Jr TKM Extreme for 2008

By Karting1 ~ January 18th, 2008. Filed under: Kart Racing News.

Tal-Ko have announced they will not be offering Jr TKM Extreme in 2008. It was initially going to be run as a Super 1 ‘only’ class, but the idea appears to have be rejected by competitors. The Karting1 Forum members also voted 90% against the new class when it was announced. Here’s what Tal-Ko had to say on Tal-Ko.com -

“We have listened to the drivers and parents along with the manufacturers who support TKM and in order to safeguard the Junior TKM class at S1 level we have decided to make this decision now and go back to the simple one Junior class option. The three tier format is very important in allowing all drivers a level playing field and very simple for everyone to apply and so should add extra bite to the S1 class this year.”

Hopefully the re-unification of Jr TKM will ensure it’s growth in 2008 and continues as one of the UK’s best junior kart classes.
