According to Formula1.com Michael Schumacher has agreed to take part in this year’s ‘International Challenge of Go-Kart Champs’ in Brazil.

“During the European Grand Prix, in Nurburgring, he told me I could count on him. It will be such a pleasure to receive him in Brazil, especially for the race. We like each other, and his presence represents the importance, seriousness and professionalism of the event. The stakes will be even higher on the driver’s side, but that is the idea. Since its birth, the International Challenge of Go-Kart Champs proposal has been to bring the best drivers.”

Other drivers taking part in the event are Luca Badoer, Rubens Barrichello, Nelson Piquet Jr and Vitantonio Liuzzi.

Many will be familiar with this event, as the karts used do look very odd indeed, and it always attracts the big names of motorsport. -

Rumours have also been hot that Schumacher would compete in the Monaco Kart Cup, but that is yet to be confirmed. Schumacher had also took part in a couple of tests early this year with the TonyKart/Vortex KF1 team, however he has not confirmed any competition driving with them…yet.
