Schumacher
By Karting1 ~ February 26th, 2007. Filed under: Kart Racing News.
Schumacher once again has been testing with the Vortex/TonyKart KF1 at Ugento. The test was to gain data about the Bridgestone tyres. Even though no times were released it is rumoured that he was around half a second or more off 2006 European Kart Champion Marco Ardigo.

It’s surprising he isn’t quicker in the KF1 motors as he was so instrumental in their design specifications, making them softer, and easier for older men to drive. Has F1 turned Schumacher into a softy who can’t keep up with these young professional karters, just like Button who couldn’t handle karting in his pre-season preparation?
Here’s an odd photo with Schumacher sporting a new helmet. Some mechanic has forgotten to put the pods on as well, or maybe Schumi wants a touch of the oldskool

He’s way over the weight limit… (you know the weight limit they only decided two weeks ago and still messed up?)

He can’t be that far over the weight limit, he’s a proffesional F1 driver and I doubt he would let his fitness level drop suddenly just cos he’s not racing =D

I like the way you call Schumacher an old man, when he is probably one of the fittest athletes in the world still. And how can he be that far over the weight limit? I doubt he’s more than about 70 kilos, what is the KF1 limit?

I have an F1 calender, and it says he’s 74kg…

Hmm, well i’m 77 and make the Rotax limit on my EVX, even need 3kg of lead
But then again Rotax isn’t exactly the premier league of Karting. I’m sure he’ll be on the pace soon anyway, after all he is the one.

I don’t care what you guys think, he is a legend, he will be on pace, just remember they only testing not racing maybe they trying out stuff. If he is over the weight limit, he will work harder in the gym and lose it.

Yeah, it’s hardly like Schumacher to give up if something doesn’t work..
