Nelson Piquet Jnr – Karting More Tiring Than F1!

By news ~ July 17th, 2009. Filed under: Kart Racing News.

Formula 1 drivers are supposed to be the fittest men on the planet but on Nelson Piquet Jnr’s Twitter Page he wrote this about yesterday’s karting event organised by Robert Kubica in KZ2 karts at Lonato -

“I have to admit: The go-kart I drove made me feel more tired than when I drive my F1 car!”

So there you go – Karts are harder than F1!

Of course they are but I dunno if Nelsinho is the right driver to listen to!

Maybe its because he actually managed to keep the kart on the road for the whole race whereas in F1 he is/was done after a few laps!:P

Yeah i think it is because in karting, due to the caster and camber and the way the stub axle are designed, when u turn the wheel, you are in essence lifting the front of the kart. If you sit in the kart on the ground and turn full lock the font moves around up and down. In F1 the “stubs” if you like are horizontal to the chassis.

Plus in karting, the wheels are smaller so it is much harder to control the front wheels when riding the curbs as the wheels literally fall into every groove instead of ride over easily like F1!
