MSA Launch ‘Come Try Karting’

The MSA have launched a new initiative to attract a new audience to kart racing in the UK that slightly echoes the ‘Come Try Karting’ initiatives found in Australia and New Zealand. The program is going to be led by Rod Taylor who had this to say –
“When we compiled the initial evaluation paper, it was clear that there were some excellent initiatives already in place and I would like to thank everyone who has contributed their ideas to get us to this stage. There`s has been a collective will across the board and I have been struck by the genuine enthusiasm of people who really want to help the sport.
Let`s Go Karting will take elements of existing programmes and create a blueprint that can be rolled out to other clubs and venues, building up a centrally-co-ordinated, but locally-delivered, national scheme.
It is absolutely the right time to launch this kind of programme and I am delighted to have been appointed by the MSA to bring it all together.
The MSA have invested around £125,000 into the program which will see young people being able to try a kart for around £5. The initiative will be aimed at young people, and schools – “The MSA intends to select a number of clubs and venues around the country to participate in the scheme and it is anticipated that promotional campaigns will reach local school children around each centre, taking the sport directly to an important new audience.”. Not a totally new audience as the already successful British Schools Karting Championship has shown.
The slightly uninspiringly named ‘Let’s Go Karting’ program will be launched in April 2008, when more details about clubs and venues will be released. More Details>>
