Karting World Championship: Racing Suspended Due to Track Breaking Up

By Karting1 ~ October 10th, 2009. Filed under: Kart Racing News.

The Karting World Championship, taking place in Macua this weekend, has seen racing suspended due to the track surface breaking up. Worries were brought up on Thursday when certain parts of the newly laid surface started to come apart. After just two heats, racing was stopped. British driver Ben Hanley was the best positioned driver so far with pole and a heat win. He will be bitterly disappointed if racing can not continue.

Efforts are being made to try and rescue the track over night, and hopefully some sort of schedule can be arranged tomorrow so we see a racing for the most coveted prize in world karting.
