However the UK, and USA importers reckons there are moves afoot to save the Biland.
Nick from Saxon Motorsport, UK Biland dealer, explains his side of the story -

As is often the case in Karting everything is definitely NOT as it seems!
There is effectively a management buy out going on within Hoeckle with all the associated large company politics that inevitably go with such things. The facts are that one of the two major share holders of Hoeckle is taking over the production of engines, spare parts and the promotion of the international racing. In the process of this reorganisation certain personal have been bypassed and have taken it upon themselves to release part of the story only. This process has been going on since last summer and without these less than truthful press releases would probably have taken place without anyone being the wiser.’ UK Biland 2007 Dates can be found here

Brad Linkus, USA Biland importer explains what he thinks is going on -

‘Hoeckle has stopped producing the Biland engine as they have sold the rights to manufacture the engine to one of the owners of Hoeckle (Gert Hoeckle) and a new investor. They are in the process of opening a new location in Germany separate from the current factory in Mussengen. This new facility will be used exclusively for the production of the Biland engine and components. The two owners of Hoeckle have been in disagreement with each other over the direction of the company and they have decided to split the TeamBiland Company from Hoeckle. This has been in the works for many months. The engines in the market will still be serviced through the existing Biland importers and dealers throughout the worldwide network. Parts are still available and production of the new engines will begin in a short time.’

Obviously there are some political goings on at Hoeckle, and serious questions have to be raised about how this situation. We’ll keep you updated on the situation.

    DON`T BR SURE!

    Here some facts from Germany:

    1. It seems like the one-owner-will-takeover-story is wrong or stopped, because no german dealer knows about that! Further on, it´s known that there are some interested investors, but unknown ones!

    2. The part with the “new facility” can be explained by the fact that Hoeckle bought an bigger areal a few kilometers from Mössingen to build a new Hoeckle facility! (A special Biland area was planned..)

    3. The press releases which are submitted & quoted are the offical press releases of the Biland Management! It was send to all Dealers and to Motorsport-XL Magazine (german karting mag). They published it after Biland certified it!
So, there´s unfortunately no doubt that Biland, as known, is history.
But if we got some luck, someone will take over the rest of the engines and parts, so that we might get spare parts for at least on more year….let´s hope!

A sad, but well informed Biland driver……trust me.
