MSA British Kart Championship Decider on 1/2 October for KF2

By Karting1 ~ May 17th, 2011. Filed under: Announcements.

The UK’s most prestigious kart title will be decided over a single weekend at the PF International circuit on 1st and 2nd October 2011. The KF2 drivers will be among the first to sample the newly extended 1350 metre circuit complete with Suzuka style bridge and banked turn. The 2011 MSA British Kart Champion will win a brand new Fiat car worth over £8000, second will take home £2000 and third £1000 and the champion will of course receive his award at the MSA’s Night of Champions. Entries are open to drivers from all countries with a National A equivalent or higher grade senior licence and must be lodged by 16th September using the entry form which is available on the Forms page of www.s1series.co.uk .

The championship is promoted by the Super One Series in conjunction with Trent Valley Kart Club, the organisers of the very successful CIK-FIA North European KF2 & KF3 Trophy European qualifying events. The entry fee is £195 which covers Saturday and Sunday, whilst open practice on Friday 30th September is optional.

Super One’s Marketing Director John Hoyle said: “We have had a lot of interest already, with a dozen entries registered, and the added bonus of winning a new Fiat road car will attract even more. I’m sure the engine suppliers will be eager to hire KF2 motors for the weekend, so all drivers need is a CIK homologated chassis.” There will be controlled parc fermé wets and slicks, and control fuel for the event, as well as strict scrutineering and clutch-slip logging.

Circuit owner Paul Fletcher added: “We don’t want this just to be for British drivers, international drivers can help produce a really competitive event and the principal kart teams are eager to support us.” The PF International circuit is in Lincolnshire mid-way between Grantham and Newark and is Britain’s best appointed kart circuit. The winner will be eligible to use the Number One plate on his kart at all British KF2 events, with cherished numbers being awarded down to tenth place.
