KF1
KF1 was the first Winter Series final of the day, and no prizes
will be given to anyone who guesses who was on pole – Mark
Litchfield. Beside him sat Shaun Carter, with Jonathon Walker, and
Richard Bradley making up the second row. At the lights it was Carter
who gained the advantage from Litchfield and took the lead. Grid
9 man, Nick Yelloly, had somehow made it into 4th place, and was
behind Walker. Carter's go at glory was short lived as Litchfield
went up the inside at turn 7 on lap 1.

Pole man Mark Litchfield leads the KF1
field!
3rd place man, Walker, was looking rapid, and by lap 6 he had caught
Carter who was still in 2nd. Walker made his way through into second
place, but by that time Litchfield was long gone and there was only
2 laps left. There were enough laps however for Yelloly to nab 3rd
from Carter.
Mark Litchfield took another dominant win at the flag and continued
his 100% winning record in KF1.

Variable weather caused some headaches
through the finals.

KF2
Thankfully the deja vu feeling of the KF1 final was broken in KF2
as fresh from Junior TKM - Jake Ball - slotted his KF2 on pole for
the final. Two 3rd places in the heats ensured his grid slot. Lining
up in second place was Greg Harper followed by James Abraham, then
current KF2 Winter Series leader Robert Foster-Jones. Jack Harvey
debuting for Birel was in 5th..
Ball got off to the perfect start and instantly slotted himself
firmly into first place. Abraham stole second from Harper and was
in pursuit of Ball. However a mistake mid corner at turn 6 meant
he lost valuable tenths. Meanwhile Jack Harvey lay in forth ahead
of Jordan Chamberlain.

Jake Ball was on fire in KF2
Abraham's mistake had cost him dear and Harper was soon back into
second place.
That's how it stayed for the top 3 until the end of the race, though
Ball did appear to have some trouble on the last lap losing tenths,
and that was confirmed when his motor died on the in-lap. Jake Ball
took a fantastic win, and even when Jr TKM seems slightly unstable
it shows it can still provide top quality drivers.

That deja vu feeling that plagued KF1 was soon back when Mackenzie
Taylor sat on pole position for the final. Sitting next to him was
Aaron Sherlock. Sam Jenkins, and John Norris made up the second
row.
At the start Sherlock took the lead from Taylor. Unfortunately
a mistake at the first hairpin on cold tyres caused some carnage.
Taylor's hopes looked doomed as his kart climbed on the back of
Sherlock's spinning kart. But he managed to get through undamaged
and lay in 3rd place. Nicolas Christafaro was the biggest gainer
as he leaped into the lead from grid 6, but Taylor was on a charge
and soon passed John Norris for second. By lap 2, Taylor was in
the lead and it soon became obvious he was driving on another planet
as he stretched his lead by nearly a second a lap
On lap 4 Taylor led from Christofaro and newly 3rd placed Ashley
Sutton. By the last lap, Taylor was over 10 seconds clear and in
fantastic form. Christofaro had problems though and spun off at
the second hairpin. Sutton inherited 2nd, with Jake Dennis slotting
into 3rd ahead of Rikki Gordon.
By the finish Taylor was 11.87 seconds ahead of anyone else!
