| Myself, and Will Dendy were the testers, and we used a decent
06 JKH/TKM
Extreme as the test kart.. The Kart seat model we were using
was the Iztech IZ3.

The first thing you will notice about the Iztech is the quality
of finish. It really is nice. Obviously the manufacturing process
has clearly had a lot of focus put into it.
Video of the Test -
We only had a day to play with Iztech in a non-competitive environment
so it's difficult to know how well it would perform on race day.
However, we had a good idea of comfort, feedback we received through
the seat, and how it compared to the Tillet.

Early on in the day the seat was positioned slightly in the wrong
place, but the instant feedback was good. The seat is a soft compound
and I could really feel what the chassis was doing under load. As
the seat was slightly too far forward, the kart felt a little twitchy
and nervous at the rear, but the initial impressions were good.

Our plan was to see what times the Iztech did compared to the Tillet.
Will Dendy put in a fast time with the Iztech – 49.79. This
was incredibly good for the setup we were running that day. Next
up was the Tillet. The Tillet was positioned on the kart better
this time around. With this seat in place, Dendy put in the time
of 49.78. Only 0.01 faster than the Iztech. Performance wise there
appears to be nothing to differentiate the two seats we tested.
Of course it is very difficult to analyse the performance differences
between muiltiple makes and models, but from our evidence, Iztech
doesn't seem to have issues in that department.
As the day progressed we changed our seating position of the Iztech.
Once this was sorted the benefits of the Iztech and it's design
became clear. The actual comfort factor was excellent. It fits the
body very well and it's something Dendy was keen to comment on -
“I always get lumps on my back and sides from the Tillet,
but the Iztech has special recess for the back. It was very good.”

The difference that the seat position made was incredible. For
me, the kart became much more predictable. The way it holds your
body in, meant the potential to push the kart was very exciting.
Unfortunately the clock hit 4pm and our day was over. So no more
potential pushing for me!
With the added comfort benefits of the Iztech it is definitely
worth a look for anyone who has trouble in that area over a race
distance. Comfort is key for consistency!

There can't be many complaints to be found with the Iztech. The
build quality is excellent, it certainly looks to have the performance,
and the comfort. Maybe improving the flat bottom on the seat so
it can sit lower could be an area of improvement.
Don't expect leaps in lap times or anything like that, but if you
want to look at something slightly different to the Tillet, there
is now another high quality seat manufacturer out there that should
have your attention.
