We are really struggling to get down to minimum weight .we normally finish 4-5kilos over.we have a small tank, drilled holes in a few brackets, the driver is constantly dieting although he needs to keep a kilo or 2 off I was wondering if anyone else had any ideas on getting an extra kilo or So off?
Any help will be appreciated
Cheers

Be careful with carbon floor trays or different material seats, these can alter handling as well.

Magnesium components are lighter as well. Sticker kits are a few kgs so run with minimal stickers.

I had the same problem in TKM I'm now just 2KG over the limit. I fitted a carbon floor tray that made quite a difference, stripped all my stickers off, my Tony ones were 2KG. I also fitted a small tank and luckily my kart came with lightweight brackets. I also bought a Freem suit as I needed a new one anyway and that was 800 grams compared to my A* which was at least 2KG Also needed a new lid and that saved a bit. The rest I just had to set to and get off me! Which was a lot! If you run them could also take the camera and MyChron/Alfano off. I think I heard a tenth every 2KG but I may well be wrong on that I can't 100% remember.

Hi glen it was my brother Jason number 64 at kimbolton Sunday.after winning heat 1 we were 156.6 and heavier later in the day.
Will have to go for the sticker less pods and maybe a carbon tray if we can find one.cant believe the difference in suit weights!he would like a Freem one so that could be a good excuse

-cadet style steering wheel
-3rd bearing out
-take out all washers
-carbon seat (tried tray couldnt get along with it)

all bolts on kart should be as long as they need to be, so any exess length on the bolt, cut it off

Thanks

May not be long enough but you get the idea. May be a little cheaper if you google a company called 'probolt' and see what they've got on offer.
Hope that helps mate.

If you have a 50mm axle, it may be worth trimming it slightly.

1 it cuts some weight, but also allows for the rear end to be brought in more in the wet.

dunno if it is suitable for a CIK chassis but worked for my JKH
