You have a Parilla TT27 100cc enginie.
firstly get your self a new spark plug... an NGK B10EGV should be fine.
I can't see by the pics what carb you are using but it's probably a Tillotson of some form. I recommend you buy a 'rebuild kit' for about £10. First you will have to identify what Tillitson (or Tilly for short) carb you are using. that is if it is a tillotson carb
To do this look at the bottom of it. It should say something liek HL 30A or something like that. You will probably want to get someone else to rebuild it so they can check it hold pressure. speak to the guys at www.Spellfame.co.uk
They will be able to sort out your carb no problem at all and advice you on what your low, and high jet should be on the carb.
What settings did you run when you tested the kart?
If it doesn't run still after that speak to these guys www.wrightkarts.com it might need a look over _________________ Karting1.co.uk - Karting1 Twitter - Karting1 Facebook |

It sounds like it could be a carb problem.
On the low jet screw you should be 'roughly' about 1 1/2 turns out, and the same on the high jet.
Usually you can tell which screw is which by looking at the letter next to the screw... L for low, and H for High
So you screw it in fully and then rotate anti clockwise for 1 1/2 turns. That would be by no means perfect, and you shuold speak to spellfame to see if they can rebuild your carb.
Personally if I were you I would get myself a new Tillotson HL360A and use that, and rebuild my other carb.
Spellfame.co.uk will be able to provide with the carbs, and carb rebuild kits. _________________ Karting1.co.uk - Karting1 Twitter - Karting1 Facebook |

and also....
when you bought the engine did the owner say whether the engine had just been rebuilt', or if it had already been run? _________________ Karting1.co.uk - Karting1 Twitter - Karting1 Facebook |

Really, tuning a 100cc engine carb is no job for a complete rookie.
I've not seen the pics but thankfully it's a reedjet and not rotary valve which would make it a complete nightmare for a new driver.
Even if you find a basic set up to go out with finetuning it is no easy job unless you know what to look for and how to go about it.
I think you should try to get some help at the track, you really need to be taken through this by someone who knows his stuff and learn from that.
Nevertheless we used to run our Tillotsons at 1 1/4 for the high speed needle, 1 1/4 or 1 1/2 for the low speed. |
