of course he did
but simon (MBA num 54) had pole!!!!
he won heat 1 in the pouring down rain from paul(num40) and taylor
then heat 2 johny won in the damp, simonn 2nd and taylor from 11th to third(drive of the day haah)
simon on pole, taylor 2nd johnny 3rd
final, johnny tried to put taylor on grass!!! took out poleman, taylor took lead, kart dies in corner 2, lost 2 places and then held on to 3rd, 3 point lead into last round, johnny poles and wins is champion!
he has to finish, saturday he broke down 3 times, pity his gremlins moved on sunday lol |

and a pity our rachaels problems seem to be never ending.if she could one day get a kart that was prepped properly she might finish a race and have an engine that works properly.im very frustrated for her!

she does get a bit down about it,and im frustrated cos id love to prep the kart and help out but im too far away really down south.it just seems to be the same story every month!
spoke to her after her two heats and she did seem pleased with her drives in the wet, especially as the wet tends to be a bit of a blind spot for her.mostly down to confidence i think.hopefully next time out in the wet she wont be fearful about it.needs a few lessons from the kasch-machine!

haha
she was going great in the wet heats, i thought she was going to tag on to me when i went past her and cause me a nervy 5 laps in the second heat.
To be honest she just needs confidence now and not being hit by randomers!!!!
maybe dave should show her how to do it.....mind you hes probably still looking for the 81 sprocket we ordered 6 weeks ago lol

dave show her how to do what?
fail to prep a kart or drive?
i did half a day at hooton and dave had a go out in my kart and went three quarters of a second a lap slower than me.he came in early cos he said he was gonna bin it if he tried any more!

Chris......
what engine does she use?, is it one that gets hired out, we borrowed one off dave at three sisters and something wasnt quite right, wouldnt rev past 15.5 he lent us a differnt one (engine/carb/coil complete) and we were quick, winning the final by a mile |

i believe he has two.rachaels and another.he has had them both rebuilt.
they use 310 ml oil to 5 litres which im sure is way too much.
the carb settings were also a whole turn too rich on BOTH the low and high jets until my brother sorted that out last month but i dont think the fuel mixture is going to help at all!
what fuel mixture do others use? |

depends what oil you use, but we have run as low as 250ml using shell racing M, depends on the weather
to be honest i think one of the carbs isnt all that it should be, i take it youve tried a few different ones, the carbs arnt that great to be honest
just out of interest do they check anything after the final at hooton i.e carbs, restrictors etc? |

you must be joking!
the kart gets chucked into the lorry and isnt taken out until the next meeting!
i dont run her at all as i live too far away.ive tried to help once or twice but with that level of preperation things just go wrong all the time and i cant be doing with it to be honest.from what i gather 250 to 280 is about the norm.i use 310 on my tkm so i KNOW its not right! |

i mean the scrutiners do they check anything after the final at hooton i.e carbs, restrictors etc?
because if they dont they should, theres a few people using some tricky bits that they shouldnt be, so unless things are checked your on a hiding to nothing
back to the original point, get rachel to get dave to change the carb, coil on one of the engines ,we went from scratching our heads a second of the pace to quickest in the final by using a different carb coil and motor of his, from reading your previous posts youve had this problem for a while, shes wasting her money if the problem doesnt get fixed!!! |

problems been going on for months but im afraid dave seems inable to do anything!
last month when i was there we changed a coil,a new battery and a new carb.we adjusted the carb settings to what they should be(as i said,a whole turn too rich on either jet)so after the engines being rebuilt and still the same problem,i can only see the fuel ratio as being the problem as even if the carb settings are correct,if the mix is way off then its not going to perform
i think rachael has a test session so hopefully they can get it all sorted
not sure what hooton check to be honest as ive never raced there (and only been to hooton twice)and tend not to be around park ferme
i dont really know enough about the class having never raced in it and only helped out twice but after asking around quite a lot i know things arent being done correctly.if it wasnt my sister id wash my hands of the lot! |

She was quick last time I raced in Blue in September - 3rd quickest time I believe!
I use 230/5L millers oil and low jet at 1 1/4 and high 1 1/2 . Should be using 81/83 sprocket.
I have only seen weight being checked at Hooton !! |
