I've been having a discussion with a friend regarding tyre pressure to tyre temperature.
Does increasing the tyre pressure help the tyres get up to temp quicker and too much pressure will let your tyres overheat?
What it the ideal working tyre temp for mojos D2's and D'3?
Cheers |

However going really low can also increase the temp rapidly. _________________

Yes, too low can overflex the the tire and generate heat too. I've never gone low enough for it to happen though and we've run down to 6.5 or 7 psi on soft tires. Obviously it's compound dependent though. _________________

| I also had this debate and was told buy a guy who races superkarts he always said that the tyre side wall generates the heat into the tyre etc. But on the flip side of that some lads at work raced prokarts they ran there pressures at approx 30 psi they said this gave them More grip which yes it did but it was only because the tyres were ballooning there for only running on half the over all width of the tyre then after a lot of debate he Tried them at 8-10 psi he was a little slower for first 2-3 laps in the final but then won by twice the distance compared to running them high also had More grip through out the whole race cause he was not over heating the tyres any way im sure someone Else will have better theory than Mine but all my ideas i test them and learn from it |

| Need to differentiate between the Air temperature inside the tyre and the Rubber/Surface temperature |
