The following changes are to be made to the junior TKM class as of 2008...
(extract from the ABKC news section of karting magazine)
"the junior intermediate class would disappear to be replaced by three tiers of weight / restrictor power band groups in junior TKM, all racing for the same trophies and points. There would be the current 129kg / 20.5mm, plus a 135 kg and a 142 kg category." _________________ Ayrton Senna - "You will never know the feeling of a driver when winning a race. this is never going to be fair, 1 tier will be the faster and everyone will want to be in that. They shud keep inters and use the 100cc engines with no restrictor so they are completly seperate from juniors and still have less power than extremes. _________________

Yes i can also see that happening, as things stand now, with the 2 restrictors, at some tracks, juniors are 3/10ths faster.
lets just hope that Tal-Ko get the power:weight ratios right for 2008. _________________ Ayrton Senna - "You will never know the feeling of a driver when winning a race. The helmet hides feelings that cannot be understood"

Hmmmmmmmmmm, sounds like they're going down the Formula Blue route with the different restrictors.
However, personally speaking, I would've just make Juniors the current Inter weight and remove the restrictor instead of doing it this way but you never know, it may work. |
