Message from jag to distributors the other day:

The battery Part no. 265514 has now been replaced with
Part no. 265515 which is now the Yuasa YT7B-BS battery.
The retail price is £63.19

The old battery part no. 265514 is no longer available.

Regards
Jean (J.A.G.)

I think they have changed this battery about 10 times since I've been in karting each one more expensive and promising to fix battery failures. None have.

The Numax equivalent from battery bay in cannock is £19.99, are these three times better?

It should only be about £26.00.

Where are Rotax getting their prices from, Mappin & Webbs the Royal jewellers?

There isn't a problem with the batteries until you mount them on the chassis rails.

If you mount them on foam and use a seat mounted carrier, then you have no problems.

The only time we had two batteries fail in succession was when we used a chassis mounted holder for a while.

there are many batteries that will work but apparently can't handle the vibrations on a kart as they are usually designed for a back up battery in an alarm system or emergency lighting system. The "good" batteries are supposed to have reinforced internal connections which can take the vibrations.

Looks like Rotax have shot themselves in the foot with this one I wonder if the battery has a Rotax logo on it this is the only reason people bought the last one.

Let you in on a secret, the Yausa YT7BBS, is the OEM battery for a Suzuki DRZ400 enduro bike. You can get the battery from just about any Suzuki dealer for under $70 USD.
