Well, I don’t know anything about the Sachs Dolmar engine: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=teEREL4BMGo

but it looks a tad feeble compared with an Aixro-powered chainsaw: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xUnb_JQ7mlE

And the Aixro has, in a rather different application, been boosted to nearly 100hp – search ‘Mission Everest'.

I’m sure your 700hp car is very nice, but I suspect our little 50hp engines will last rather longer. Smile

Incidentally, building a mega-power ‘drag’-kart is no doubt an interesting project, but where and when would you actually use it? And, ultimately, buying a made-for-purpose, Aixro-powered kart would probably cost you a good deal less and will definitely get you on track and racing pretty much anytime you want.

I was just thinking about what other small rotary engines there were Smile

My rx7 will be running fairly low boost (1.2 bar) to get to that sort of figure, no real strain on the engine and will happily carry on for many more tens of thousands of miles, its only if you don't set up the fueling or cooling things go bang!

I live an hour from the Santapod raceway, they have 'run what ya brung' days where you can run whatever you want down the drag strip, they are open for RWYB days most weekend, I will probably be looking at a 250cc dirtbike engine initially though (looking at a Yamaha YZ250 2 stroke) is the Aixro engine direct drive or gearbox?

I think Jurgen has tried it. He also has a 250cc chassis with 2 Aixro's fitted.
