Hi All,

We're thinking of trying out next years Hooton Park Indikart 4 stroke championship, but it's hard to find any infomation about the series at all.

We're coming from a long way, 200 miles each way, and wondered if there would be testing on the saturday before the racing the next day, and if you could camp on site overnight?

There was a could turn out in karts to Stu's Thunderkart champ, but how many race in the club championship?

Last question, what are the exact rules of the championship? Like tyres, Engine Types, Engine modifications, Weights etc etc...

Thanks,
Dan

Hi dan,

i am also thinking of doing more rounds their next year.

as far as im aware, its very much an open class for 4strokes. the grid is about 20 karts (PLUS! me and my dad, you and i know a few other are planning on racing their next year) so its a good size grid. it ranges from pro karts to heavily tuned thunderkarts, and these all race on track together, but are split into classes withing the grid. engine regs are open on all karts, so it makes it quite fun (as im sure you can see from my video's and when you raced their)

no weight limit, although this doesnt seem to be a problem as the racing is always close and great fun!!
any tyres can be used aswell unless that rule has changed?
Any air cooled 4stroke engine, mainly the honda gx range, from single engine big monsters to highly tuned twin engine pro karts and even the great sounding v-twins! but also a yamaha 250cc aswell.
(they do run a non-msa 2stroke class aswell, and also cadets and bambino's)

as for the practice and camping, i cant see practice being a problem as it would be a open practice day anyway, but not to sure on camping.

the guy to speak to is BOB at the track, his email and phone number can be found on the hooton website.

Thanks Stu, that explains alot of it for us.

Really looking forward to racing their next year.
We may pop up one weekend this year just to get a feel for it, and see what it is like on their club race days. If we decide to race up their, we'll be bringing 3 Karts, so that will increase numbers. I can't think of camping in December though!

What did you do last time you were there, leave very early on the Sunday morning, and get back very late the same night?

Dan

Hi Dan,

at the weekend meeting obviously we camped at the circuit overnight, but the other times i have been there i have just driven up on the morning of the meeting and driven back the same day.

i will be there a couple of times next year, and will probably bring a couple of karts. i know others are thinking of racing there aswell.

stu Very Happy

as it is an fairly open class, i dont see it a problem to 'raise the question' with bob at the circuit.

i for one wouldn't have a problem racing with you guys.

i think the problem is that they are water cooled, not air cooled. . . however, it might be if the grid get s quite big, it can be a open 4 stroke class, split into a faster group (the fastest thunderkarts/vtwins and tkm 4/) and the open pro karts. . .

have a word with bob at the circuit.
