We just got a shipment of 10 XR50's in to our new shop. I am getting ready to assemble them and have been warned they run extremely hot. Have you guys had the same experience? What size rads do you run? Has anyone had experience with the KG Polar Max?
Just so you know it is in the upper 90 (close to 100) degree F or 37.77 C
where we are located.
Thanks for the help.

Hot indeed! Not just the engine, but also your environment. I’ve never been to Louisiana, but hot & humid is certainly what I would associate with your region.
So yes, most definitely ‘go large’ on the radiator. I find my New-Line (245x430x40mm) very effective. I presume a KG of similar dimensions would be just as good.
PS: Had a peak at your website. Looks like you have (are building?) a fantastic facility there. Having XR50 karts is certainly the perfect match for such excellence. |

Thanks kai. Yea it is going to be awesome when it is all completed. Our kart track is finished just waiting for our building. They just started paving one of our car tracks a few days ago. We definitely thought the xr50 would be a fun engine to have. If you have any advice for them feel free to let me know.
What is a ballpark gear you run on them and where do you guys get them from? I don't know if anyone over here carries a large #428. We have the ability to either run a 215 or 305 meter straight. _________________ Kart Shop Manager

Hi, I have a KG pentagonal (don't think you can go larger), my engine run too cool, I have to tape it even during summer .
Gearing between 43-52 with the STD 11 at the front, this cover all tracks in the uk. |
