Did anyone read the comments on Ekarting news from Tom Barth regarding the emulsion tube on the Max Dellorto ?.
Tom ( a VERY experienced Dellorto expert) is convinced the max is fitted with the wrong tube --one designed for a 4 stroke !Shocked
He has tested with the equivalent "2 stroke" tube (fewer cross holes) and reports a much more drivable result.
I never could understand why the Max had such a flat spot at 7-8 krpm.
Maybe this is part of the answer ?

Hopefully Rotax (or someone close to them) will check this out.
Its in their interest to make sure these things are correctly specified.
But it is difficult to believe that they could have had it fundamentally wrong for so long, especially with so many self proclaimed "experts" in the field involved.

They did not get it wrong, they specified a set-up and gave everybody a warrantee.

If we were allowed to set the carb up as we wanted then the warrantee would cost Rotax a fortune. This is not an all out racing engine; its designed as a long life engine and the karting world likes the idea. Rotax have no intensions of turning it into formula were the engines last for 30 minutes before they require a rebuild if that’s what you want then ICA and FA are the place for you.

Thats B.S. john.
The emulsion tube is not going to make the difference between life and death of the motor, there are a 100 things more critical than that.
BUT getting the correct tube spec MAY just help smooth out the powe curve.
Or do you not agree that the Max has a crap power delivery ?
