Lydds a bit of a schlep from Portsmouth Alan, but can thoroughly recommend it being my home track
I would think Forest Edge (that is Hampshire isn't it) would be both nearer and easier to get to from Pompey, although having said that, Lydd do offer a non-MSA sprint series for Pro karts, which might interest Andy if he fancies actually racing it. |

| Hardly ever any sessions for owner/drivers at Sandown now, but Thruxton is a good one for ProKarts - except for the ridiculous new "walled" chicane at the back. |

http://www.thruxtonracing.co.uk/viewtheracetrack2.html - click on the bend coded in pale blue.
Last time I was there (a while ago now) the curb on the right and then on the left was replaced with seemingly waist-high, hard-rubber 'boards'. Just awful, but then I was driving a Biland around there in the wet and that wasn't exactly ideal either!
Am I avoiding work here on a Friday afternoon, or what? |

| Lydd is a decent facility if you're happy going that far, it's also my local professional kart circuit. I'll be taking my Easykart (arriving next month) up there after Christmas at some point to have a play! |

Clothing wise. you might want to get a race spec suit just in case in the future you fancy racing.
http://www.spellfame.co.uk/acatalog/Kart_Suits.html
Remember for racing the suit has to be CIK-FIA level 3, 2, or 1. It will say on hte back of the collar.
Get yourself some matching boots and gloves too. |
Cheers for all your help. as you can tell i havent got a clue when it comes to karts!!
I gave Matchams a call( as its fairly local) but they are closed for practice(as is the motocross track!) but they are running race meeting, so i thought sod it ill go for that!! racinng is the best possible practice!! Just hope it doesnt rain as i only have one set of wheels and they have slicks on!!!
Wish me luck!!! _________________ too many toys...... too little time!! |
